June 25 An Amazing Week! WOOT WOOT!

Well, first thing is first, we had transfers 2 days ago and I'm staying!   I'm still in good ole Santa Rosa with my comp so that good I suppose. haha   So that probably means that I'll be moved out the next transfer so that's something to look forward to but who knows.... maybe I'll be here forever! ha 

Anyway, this past week was amazing!  We had two baptisms!! WOOT WOOT! It was wonderful! 

We baptized E and J and mother and son ages about 55 for E and 21 for J.  They are great!  Ever since we started to teach J he has accepted everything, and has always been committed to be baptised and he loves church and everything.  E, on the other hand likes church a lot and loves our lessons but she would NEVER commit to the date to be baptised.  But we went ahead last Sunday and announced that E and J would be baptised that Saturday the 23rd of June.   When really only J was a for sure and she was looking like she wasn't.   BUT, I was praying that she would.  So on Tuesday we had a lesson with them, went very very good but she still wouldn't commit to a date.  Then Wednesday we had a lesson with her.  This time things were different!  E always reads the Book of Mormon and has had many many experiences feeling the Holy Ghost while she reads the Book of Mormon.  There really is power in reading the Book of Mormon and when doing so one just knows, through the Holy Ghost, that it is true.   So the whole lesson it was literally E vs. Elder Perkins haha everything I said she just spun to say  ¨yeah well we will see.... we will see if I get baptised¨ and that is not the answer I wanted or the Lord.   Thankfully the Lord is on my side :) haha  you could tell that she was just doubting the Spirit that she had felt and I knew in that moment that if I let her keep putting off a date to be baptized it would never happen.   Because when we don't have goals, Satan can work on us and things that we know we should do, we don't do cause we ¨have time¨and we wait.... Not sure why I felt like this in this moment but I just had this though and acted on it.   I cut her off from talking, the whole room just super quiet for a good 30 seconds (the silence felt like forever) and then I started just talking.  I was looking directly at her in the eyes and telling her that she knew the gospel was true, she knew Joseph Smith was a prophet, she knew that the Book of Mormon is a book of God, and I honestly don't remember what I said but I went on for a good 5 minutes, filling her with the Spirit.   It was the best! haha   Then I stopped talking and everyone in the room was looking at me. (E and J, Brother and Sister M, and my comp) and we sat there in silence for a good 30 second that felt like forever.   The whole time I'm just staring into her eyes.  Then I said this.... ¨E I know that you know its true.  You have felt the Spirit testifying to you that this is true.  E,  you need this for your life.¨  Then out no where the words came to my mouth and I just said  ¨Will you make the decision now, to be the example for your son, and be baptized with him in 3 days?¨  Then BAM!!!! the Spirit was super strong in the room and she looked back at me and was holding off tears and said, ¨Yes, I will do it.   Your right.¨   AHHHH!!!! HAHAHAH   I was sooo happy!    But remember this happened Wednesday so we had one day to teach them ALL commandments (Law of chasity, Tithing, Word of Wisdom, etc...) and then one day to do the interview and then their baptism the next day.   So then we went to their house the next day and we had a 2 hour lesson from 7 to 9 at night and taught them every commandment and they accepted every single one without a problem.   That NEVER HAPPENS!!   So then Friday they passed the interview and they both got baptised Saturday and received the Holy Ghost on Sunday! :)   

Ahhh, I loved it so much!   I was so grateful for the lesson that we had that one night.   The cool thing is the whole time I was talking the Spirit was super strong and working on her.  But that always happens.  She later told us (yesterday) that what made the difference was when I said ¨will you be baptised to be the EXAMPLE FOR YOUR SON¨.   Those key words ¨example for your son¨ she said touched her in such a way she couldn't say no and had to be baptised.   So it was wonderful!   

But the stressful part is the week before someone gets baptized something always bad happens that makes them doubt.   ALWAYS.   Because Satan is attacking them full force so they don't get baptised.   So I was looking super hard to find the thing, or answer the last doubt, basically just trying to protect them.   Then Friday night J told me that a girl invited him to Evangelico (Spelling?) rave that was of God and he wanted to go to it to be in the presence of God and this event was happening Saturday morning, the morning of the baptism.   So I looked at him and told him that this ¨rave thing¨ was not of God and was of the Devil and he could not go to it.   And then he said okay, didn't go and they got baptized!    

Long story short is was a very stressful but rewarding week.   We found them 20 days ago, we taught them everynight from 7 to 8 or 8:30 except 2 nights.  Then they got baptized.   Their lives have totally changed in 20 days, for the better.   It was just a testimony to me that the gospel is true and without the Spirit, we really can't teach, because without the Spirit I know I wouldn't have used those words and she wouldn't have been baptized.  

So all in all, I LOVE E and J and it was a wonderful week! :) 

Other than that, we had zone conference which was very good, President leaves this week and the new one comes this week so that is exciting.  We should have a another baptism in 13 days, and M and A are getting married in 2 weeks so they can get baptized!   WOOT! 

So all in all, the work is moving along very good.  Lets see.... not sure what else to say haha that was the highlight of the week.   

Hopefully y'all liked my pictures that I sent home last week.  I'm still awaiting your package but it should be here this Saturday.   

My spanish is very good. People have told me a lot this week that its getting very good.  I'm to the point where I can say what ever I want and they understand even though it's only 85 or 90 percent correct,the grammer.   But when it comes to normal stuff I can speak perfectly ha 

Lets see..... what else happened.... so far we have re-activated 2 families a total of 10 people so thats super exciting! :)   They are coming to church more so that's always super exciting! and yeah... 

all is well here... yes we have heat in our apartment. and as of right now I'm not gonna buy a bigger coat.  I make due with the coats I have.   And I normally wear a scarf and gloves and ear muffs which keep me nice and warm!   

Also i took out 90 dollars a while ago.... I took it out just to have money in case I needed to buy something.   I've only pulled money out once. 

That's crazy that happened to Conner and Ethan ha next time maybe they will learn not to be bad drivers ;) haha but everyone needs a good story to tell and I guess now Conner has his!  

The zone leaders are very good!  Elder Sanchez left yesterday he got transfered. Which stunk!   We were super tight and had lived together for 4 months just about so that was sad ha but Elder Garrision and me this past transfer have grown really close. We are pretty much a perfect pair haha he reminds me a lot of Avery so that's good. But lets be honest,.... No one can replace Avery haha he by far is better lol like no joke but Elder Garrision is like him. 

What happened to Ethen in the crash?   (Quinton is talking about an ATV accident with Ethan and Conner.) 

No, the Bishop and his family who is less active didn't come to church yesterday... but we had a good lesson with them last night so we will see if they had a change of heart now. I wont say what happened.... But I would put money on it they come to church this week :) haha anyways... hope all of y'all have a wonderful week!

June 18, 2012 The Best Day Ever!!!

Well, is was good getting y'alls letter this week.  Lots has happened so I'll start off by telling you what happened this week. It's been very good!  So we´ll start with the most important thing, BAPTISMS!!!! haha 

We will be having 2 baptisms this Saturday for E and J!   WOOT!!  They are super good haha so it's been wild with them.  We found them Saturday and they went to church that next day. (church attendence number 1) (they need 3 to get baptised minimum.)   Then we saw them everyday that next week but they missed church because they were out of town. (still with one attendence). Then we decided they were ready and didn't need to wait till they had visited the church 3 times.  So we decide to take action and ask the Bishop if we can baptism them early. (this was 4 days ago before church).  So he said yes if they come to church that Sunday (yesterday).   So we had still been seeing them everyday, and they came to church so now we are in a mad scramble to teach them all the commandments, get them excited to be baptised and do all the service stuff and announce it and lots lots more haha so needless to say they are our project this week. But they are super cool. We found them clapping doors down here. (rather than knock on doors here you just stand outside and clap). They have been super golden. They have read there scriptures everynight and they have prayed. And they already have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. 

It's super cool how when you actually do it, you will always receive the answer. 

J told us when he reads it he feels ¨something¨ in his heart, aka the Spirit, and he just feels that its true! :) yayayayayaya! so thats cool. Then, 5 nights ago, E prayed for the first time in her life out loud with us (yes it took a lot of convincing, and she's about 55) and she broke down in tears in the middle of the prayer, and the Spirit just hit everyone in the room like a brick wall.  It was there and no one in that room could deny it.  So she realized that and here we are. They are getting baptized on the 23rd! :) 2 days after my 6th month party haha and yes I'm gonna be sticking to the missionary tradition and burning a tie WOOT WOOT!

Lets see.... a lot of our other people have hit brick walls and aren't progressing so that's a bummer. So we are about to drop all of them, that's never fun. Saturday night (2 days ago) we had a taco party with E and J and we cooked them tacos (they had never had them before) and milkshakes haha so they really liked that and so did we. 

If I have time I'm gonna send photos home!  I have a battery. long story but yeah... so I'll be doing that if there is time. 

TODAY WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!   First we had our 2 hours of study, then we went to the ¨Island of the Children¨ haha best thing ever!   We took lots of photos but I'll send them home. We took lots of pics and yeah it was way fun.  Then we bought food, I wrote a letter to Mollie, then cleaned the house, and then we left to come here.  It was a bummer we couldn't sleep today but it was worth it.  We went to the Island of Children with the Zone Leaders and had a very good time. There was a giant turtle and a castle and lots more.   Probably best park in the world haha   

Also this past week we have been doing a lot with the Inactive people. We have targeted 4 families and they will come back to church.  They don't really have an option... ha that's what I've decided.   One family ¨la familia A¨ are super good.   They felt the spirit, and we set up a plan for them to read the Book of Mormon everynight together as a family and to go to church this Sunday. So that was good.

Then another family ¨la familia S¨ we saw them 4 days ago.   We had a good lesson with them and they came to church yesterday for the first time in a while and they have a plan now to read every night from the Book of Mormon, have family prayer, and go to church. So that was very good to see them in church again. Its always very rewarding seeing them come back to church. those are a few of the families we are working with now. and yeah. I love it here as always! :) it really is the best place in the world. 

This past week sooooo many things have gone wrong, so many you can't even number it, but it really doesnt matter. It's been one of the best weeks to see J and E progress, to see the families come back to church, and other things. The gospel really does bring happiness to families.... if only the rest of my area would just trust us and let us in their houses!!! Haha but oh well.... i guess everything cant be perfect. 

Recently its been super cold here! Burrrrr!  Last night we found a family with 8 kids, 5 can be baptised, and there sooo cool!!!  haha we talked with them outside last night for half an hour or so, and they would just look at me and be so amazed at everything I said,  They were all excited that we were there. (Other elders had found them a year ago, but not sure what happened). So they were all happy I we were there, and it was so perfect haha they all like ran up to me and started giving me hugs and then after they just stared at me while I was asking them questions and talking about church. There sooo cool!! haha they´ve attended church 12 times so were gonna baptise them in a few weeks.  So that's super good!   

So as of right now, all is going well.  I'm still awaiting the package and everything so yeah! ha all is well! Off to attach pictures!

oh mother... I'm still awaiting your package but it should be here within a week or 2 so that's good. 

Also my Spanish has gotten very good lately.  During the lessons I can pretty much say whatever things I want.   The bishop gave me the job to teach the new member class every Sunday and that has really helped. Cause I have to teach for an hour and yeah it's fun.  We have a really good class actually.  I draw pictures and get all into it and when I don't know a word in Spanish I just make it into a joke and the people love it!  haha thats the key to success. TURN IT ALL INTO JOKES :) HAHA

Well, sounds like lots is going on in Colorado. 

As well things are getting pretty wild here in Argentina as always! ha I feel like there is never a normal day here, which makes it all that much better!

I'm glad that y'all have my camera, send me the charger and everything and I'll hold on to it. Yes,  the pictures will be much needed. EVERYONE wants to see pictures. I don't know if they just want to see America but every missionary carrys around photos of their family to show people. You can ask Tyler if he did the same.  Very, good I'll search the whole box and make sure to find everything. Normally about 3 weeks to get packages. its not to bad at all. so that's exciting.

hahah, a wal-mart here in Argentina haha that was funny.  No, there is no Walmart but there is a store that's like Walmart where we do all of our food shopping.  Its cool cause we really only buy food and personal items.  Everything else we could possibly need we can order through the mission home and they send us stuff.  So that's a nice luxury.  Its like a mini room service haha 

Anyway, that's exciting that Kellie is going off to college now and everything. It's a whole new life style and what not.  It's the best!     Tell Tyler to take good care of my car.  In reality, I sold the other one and found that one and bought it... so yeah it's mine and I'll be expecting it when i get back :) 

Let see what else.... that's a bummer about __ and all.   Super sad.  Its true though, one bad choice that ___ made a long time ago has caused this big problem.  I see that all the time here in Argentina.   14 year old girls pregnant, and things like that all lead back to one bad choice.   Moral of this, don't make the wrong choice.   Follow God :) 

That's cool Kellie got her blessing done. Those are always super cool cause it's literally God talking to us!  So you know its gonna be good. 

WOW OKC in the finals.  Lets hope OKC beats them in 4. I hope Lebron never wins. Never. And if Boston can take them to 7 games, OKC should be able to beat them pretty good.  

And no, I haven't heard any new news about the new mission president.  So that will be cool to have him here. Thats very good that yall went to the baptism!!!  SUPPORT THE MISSIONARYS!!!!   That's the way to be happy. Even you can only do it once a week, but I guarantee you that if Dad and Conner go to the missionary's and say ¨hey elders, on this night we can help y'all with appointments they would be thrilled!!!¨  We are always looking for members to help. So get involved. Its really the best work in the world, so why not get involved with it? So try to do that each week. Find a time night where y'all can help out the elders and they will love it. They could bring investigators to our house, or y'all could go with them. Anything! Just do it!

Now, as for my week ha it was a very long, lots of walking, cold freezing, wet, cold cold week. Let's see to update y'all on people. The work is good.  We are on track to have 3 baptisms in 2 weeks so that's super good. Ellos se llamen J y E (a mother and son) and N  (an old lady that has 50ish years). J and E love the church and the Book of Mormon. There so great! and super ready!  When we go to their house they normally cook us like small steaks and they are the best meat I have ever had in my life!   I love it!   They read the Book of Mormon and the chapters we give them, there still a little shy about praying but they are getting there!   N  is the best.  I love her!!!   She has nothing. She has no food, no heat for her house (and therefore she freezes all night because her house is little tin sheets of metal and bricks. sad! and she has health issues and I feel so bad for her BUT she is the most happy kind loving person in the world.  She always calls me ¨mi hijo¨ and is always so happy to see us and its the best!   She understands that she needs to be baptised and really wants to do it, so that's exciting.   We are hoping the Bishop can get involved and can get her some gas to the stove to heat the house and some food. To heat the houses here they just light all 4 burners on the stove (and they are little dinker stoves) and then they wait till the house heats up. Cool huh?!?! 

M and A should have their baby within hours. Yesterday was her due date and she is big and ready so were excited to get them married after and baptised!   The other investigators are a problem and are struggling to keep commitments but we are still working with them. 

OH!  We found a man named M and he's tight! hahaha He´s 8th generation Catholic and they have NEVER in 50 years of his life talked to missionarys of other churches. But for sure reason he felt good when we found him and he let us come to his house to teach him.  He really liked our message and he's super excited to read the Book of Mormon. He didn't come to church which made me mad ha so were gonna go see him tomorrow.

I love the Bible!  It's the best. I have studied it a lot lately (probably 15 minutes each day) and it's great. So lately I've been dropping it hard on people. 

I want to give a shout out to Carson Telford and Taylor Telford for writing me!! WOOT! haha I'll be writing them back shortly next week.

If You Have The Feeling You Want To Stop Running...

This week has been very good as far as the work goes. We found 17 new investigators (yes we led the zone this last week, there are 30 Elders) taught lots of lessons, and had a good amount at church.  So the work this week went very well.  So hopefully were gonna start seeing baptisms!!!! woot woot! 

Sounds like the games right now are very good for basketball.  Keep me updated, the people here don't know much about them.  Hopefully the OKC Thunder can win and all will be well.  They're a good team and I like Durant. 

Soccer here is wild!  I'm actually a really big fan now. And the kids, WOW! they can play.  The only thing to do here with friends is play soccer in the streets or in a park. Like in the states we have cars and can go places, or the movies, or play x box or watch tv, yeah, here its different.  The kids don't have anything like that here, so they play soccer.  Like the kids age 8 are flippin good!  It's crazy haha they can all beat me, and wow.  I mean kids in the states think they are good at soccer let me tell you.  Down here it's a different league.  It's super fun playing with the kids in the streets though they like it a lot.  Every time I turn down a street (yes they are all dirt streets) and I see kids ages 8-18 playing soccer I always call them and say ¨pasame che¨ haha which means ¨pass me dude¨ and then they kick us the ball and we kick it back and forth as we get closer and then say hi and go about our way.  But its fun.  Not sure why but the kids here love it ha something about a white American playing soccer with them in a shirt in tie just makes them happy haha actually we have a very good relationship with the kids ages 8-18 in our area.  Before, not so much. They were more into teasing us and such my first few weeks, so me and my old comp made it a goal to change the whole area and to get them to like us and it worked!  haha it took a LOT of awkard situations, and a LOT of crazy things but we did it. And now they don't do all their stupid things they would do before and they all know my name. and yeah its fun. Everyday I hear someone yell from down the street ¨AY! Perkins!¨ haha most of the time I've never seen them before but they sure do know me.  

But yeah the work is good.  Last Saturday we got to play basketball with the ward and a whole bunch of non-members and lets just say they were talking smack about how ¨us americans cant play sports¨.... lets just say afterwards they weren't talking anymore. haha it was great!  They got me at soccer, but man did I spank them at basketball haha so that was super fun.  I was pretty much the talk at church last Sunday haha ;)  but yeah it was good.  

Super sad story, we this week will probably be dropping 2 investigators Diego and Pamela :(     I'm not happy about it at all.   They are such a good family and he wants to get baptised and they came to church and accepted el libro de mormon and everything, but the girl is scared of her family who is evangelico (I don't know what its called in the states....) and therefore she won't come to church anymore, and therefore neither will diego and it's a mess.  And he got back on the drugs and ughhhh it's so frustrating!   

Lately I've really been studying the Bible because lots of times we get caught in sticky places with other people and there ministers, so in my scriptures i have marked 22 scriptures about the authority of God, laying on of hands, people seeing God/Christ in the Bible, and baptism, and how the church of God was set up (prophets etc).   Our Mission President said that  we must have a knowledge of the Bible..So thats very good.

I finished the BOM for the first time in the mission and started reading it in Spanish.  I have offically put away my English scriptures now and do all studys in Spanish so thats fun. But yeah im currently in 1 Nephi chapter 16.  Super cool.   

Solving problems...Just goes to show if you just say things rather than hide things you can fix the problem.   

OH! So there's a man named Sergio and he is about 45.  He has been inactive for 20 years and has had Word of Wisdom issues.  And missionarys have been seeing him FOREVER!!!!! and he never wants to change.  But since I've started seeing him he´s been changing.  And he´s come to church the past 3 Sundays, and during our gospels principles class we teach he loves it, and he's working with the Bishop now to change things and yesterday he told me that he knows without a doubt I was sent to Santa Rosa to find him and that when I start talking everytime he feels something inside him that moves him to action.   He was saying yesterday that it's like a light switch in him that only I could turn on inside his heart.  So he´s way active now and loves the church and it's super good.   I love helping people!  He´s currently working right now to get a temple reccommend and all and last week I dropped the cane about the Word of Wisdom.  I found that when your just super bold, stare people in the eyes, and say things, they listen, needless to say he´s stopping that too!  WOOT! WOOT!  So that's really exciting. 

It would be best if you could send me a good camera from the states. But when you send it, put it inside another box (like a cereal one) and then put that box in a box to send it.  That way I can ensure it gets here.  

Also people always want to see photos of my family and friends and such.  Like in my scriptures I carry around 2 photos of y'all, one of friends, one of mollie and the people love them!  SOOO:...... I need more of my family and friends.  So mom also in my package send me photos of the whole family (such funny ones and a good one of the family too.)  Also try to send that camera to me this week. Cause I always want to take pictures but I have no camera. So thats urgent. More for you so I can send you photos in emails and stuff.  So if you really want to see photos of me, you´ll send it fast ha. 

But yeah. All is well is ZION!

P.S. Tell Conner he needs to be in very good shape for cross country ha thats a sport I could never do cause I hated running. But good luck and you can be super good at it cause you're an aminal.  Just remember, if you're not first your last.  Win or cheat to win. There is no option.  Us Perkins, we are winners. Its like missionary work.  We cannot loose.  We have to win there is no option! So do work.

The Power of the Priesthood

So once again the computer deleted my long email to you but I have some
time so here we go. Ill start typing fast. All is well here! That's
cool that all is well at home and Tyler sent me a note and it's good all
is well with him! 


Yes tell Conner to get on that project, its super
cool, and you jump up in respect when you can say you are an Eagle Scout.
Like for example the management at Lowes really liked the fact I was an
Eagle Scout and because of it they trusted me more than the other
employees who had worked there a lot longer than me. So its true,
people respect the eagle! haha 


I lost my camera charger I think its in
the states. SO if you want you could send me a new camera (I need a
new one anyways because the one I have is cheap and very picture I
take is blurry) so I'm gonna send it home you y'all can buy a new
charger for it and yall can use it.  Good luck.  SO a camera would be
good! BUT when you send anything expensive, put it like in a cereal box
and close the box and then put it in the package so when immigration
goes through it (they do a visual check) they wont steal it.  It's what
the other Elders do and when they don't there are issues. haha but
yeah... but all is well. 


The work is super good. The next week we are
gonna start having baptisms!!  WOOT!!!  This first half  of the transfer
is like a rebuilding stage and the end of this transfer and into next
we will be baptizing!  So thats super good!!! im excitied>!!!

ummm what else is new.  Lots of crazy stuff happen but everything just seems so
normal.   I had a snickers bar today.. cost me 5 pesos but wow!  SO
sooo good haha like a dream come true.  So that was great!  
I've learned you need to learn to baptism... like some missionaries can have perfect worthiness but you must learn to baptise.  By being bold, if you are bold you show a real love for the people cause that's how they change, is when you are bold. So
I'm super bold at times.  When I see kids smoking we contact them and
take there cigs hahaha super good. Normally they give them to me. Then
we just turn the corner and break them. So that's good. But when you are
bold people respect you and the Spirit testifies and then they do it
haha super cool. but yeah.... ummmm all is well though.


So last week I casted a demon out of a guy.  Never in my life have I had such an experience. So I'll explain it and you can put this on m blog its super cool. So we had a
very weird day all day like we have 5 lessons set up and they all fell
through.... they never do that. They were all super solid. So it was
weird.  Then, at 7 we got a call from the Zone Leaders that we had to go
give a less active member of the church a blessing of comfort.  So we
went (since we had nothing to do that was set) right then.  We got to
the house and just standing outside of it you could tell something was
super wrong, like the Spirit was flashing red flags like be careful.
We are out in the middle of the country just about so it was only
that house around. So we knocked and the man let us in and was acting
way weird. And his house was super dirty and felt bad. Just a super bad
feeling. Not a normal house or not just a bad house. Like a super
bad house. Not sure how to explain it.  So the man started telling us
all his problems and was acting way weird but he kept saying I need a
blessing to help me.  So we asked who he wanted to give the blessing
and he pointed very suddenly and sharp and all jumpy.  So I gave
him the blessing and during the blessing I don't even remember what I
said but you could feel like a peace come over the whole house during
the blessing and everything was good.  Then right when I said ¨amen´
it changed.  And this time it felt like there was literally something in
the house with us, not sure how to say it but I knew without a doubt
that we could no longer be in the house.  At that moment I knew there
were bad spirits in that house that either came out of the man (due to
the blessing) or some other way. And the man kept saying after the
blessing I feel much better. But the house was super bad now. So we
left super fast, walk 40 minutes home talking about it and when got
home and I realized I left the keys in his house.  So long story short,
we called the Bishop and he went with us back to get the keys but the
house had a much more peaceful feel and the Bishop later went back
with the ward and blessed the house after he heard about the story.
SUPER LOCO!!!  But way good experience and it shows the power of the
Priesthood!

So, I guess if you say a picture is worth a thousands words then you sent a good sized letter... ha just kidding but that's way cool that Kellie finally graduated I can remember that day and walking around the track with all the bros and yeah it was a good day. 

But the best is yet to come. College is where its at haha I loved college so that's exciting that Kellie will get to go to college soon. 

Tell Conner he´s got 2 more years unless he decides to do the same thing that Kellie is doing. That would be the smart thing.  Looks like I'll be the only kid to not graduate from school early ha I always was the special one.   :)   

Anyways.... everything down here in Argentina is well!  The work is going good.  I have a new comp now, Elder Koeven, from Utah.  Last week was a good one.  We found 10 new investigators, we had 12 baptism dates, taught lots of lessons, and all seems to be going well. The end of this transfer we should have 4 or 5 baptisms! Woot Woot! so pray for the people haha we will need it! 

Lets see, all is well though. Today is my 5 month mark in the Mission! cray huh?!? To think I've been gone for 5 months is wild.  But,  the time sure does go by quite fast and rapido!  

This week has been interesting!  I almost punched out a drunk guy haha funny story. So we were walking home and a guy runs up to me and says ¨I have a friend that wants to talk to you¨ so we went into a house with 6 or 7 drunk guys lol watching soccer. And this guy ( to make a long story short) gets up in my face and start yelling at my in Spanish.  And I don't understand the guy so I'm just saying ¨hola como anda?¨ haha which is just like hi how are you. And then I keep trying to talk and he starts getting all wild and boy it was intense haha then my comp grabbed me and started to pull me back cause as this point we were inches away and then we just turned and walked away and was shaking his fist at me haha pretty funny. 

What else happened this week, got chased by dogs again, but that always happens haha, ummm... yeah its just been another wild week.  OH! So my camera charger broke and I need a new one from the states so I can charge my camera to take pictures. So hopefully you know what type of camera I have.  If not I'll bring it to email next time and write the details about it.  But send it in a yellow envelope the big ones so it´ll get here faster.  With some candy of course ;) but yeah... all is well. 

Spanish is coming, I can talk good for 2 months and 2 weeks in Argentina. At least compared to the other missionaries I can and the natives say so that's good. Everyone always says ¨you don't seem like a new missionary¨ and I just say well thanks haha but that's nice of them to say. But maybe its just cause I like to do work, but yeah... anyway all is well.  

I don't have much to write. All 4 of my converts are doing very well. That's always good to hear.  Granted its only been a few months but they are all doing super well so that's exciting! ha so that's good. Hopefully I can get more this transfer! woot woot! 

I have 60 pesos to last me the rest of the month.. Looks like I'll be eating rice and water haha cause I don't wanna take out personal money! Yay rice :) its only 10 days or so, so it shouldn't be to bad... haha lets see... yeah that's about it.  I'm off to write president so if I have time I'll write another one.  Sorry this email is boring!

How's everything at home? Hopefully its all good. The kids should be getting out of school now for the summer. I know this because Here its getting collldddd! BURRRR! haha and we have just begun the fun... tracting in the cold, the dark, the rain, and all that good stuff :) haha so that's fun. 

I love the people here. They are the best. They always invite you in the house to drink mate with them (a drink) and watch soccer. To bad we cant do either,,,, but yeah there the best haha I love it here!

A New Companion and a Sleepless Night

Well, I just talked to you yesterday so I'm not sure what to write in this email but I suppose that I´ll type one out to y'all anyways haha it was very good to hear and see all of y'all.  Y'all look good too!  HA still all look the same, but that's not a bad thing ;) 

But as you already know life here in Argentina is good. I have a new comp named Elder Koebin or some weird spelling haha but he seems good. We picked him up yesterday so I'll be with him this transfer in the same area. So that will be fun. Change is always good, but I liked having Elder Washburn as a comp. 

Yes it was very good that you guys were still on and Elder Washburns family and y'all could talk so he could get to talk to them yesterday. 

The Loza family is great I like them alot!  They loved talking to y'all and meeting y'all and they told me they want to call and talk to you and Morgan again haha the mom (Hermana Loza) and the daughter can both speak pretty good English so y'all can enjoy that haha I told them Morgan will enjoying calling them a lot haha but yeah.... hmmmm what else. 

Yesterday I was up all night with the Zone leader going back and forth from the house to the terminal ha because the zone leaders have to take everyone to the terminal and stuff and his comp had left, and mine so we were comps so that made for a really really long night. And we already don't get that much sleep so losing more sleep has been wild today! haha and today we haven't had anytime to sleep so that was a bummer.  We were to busy cleaning, writing letters, eating, buying stuff, and yeah.. so yeah very busy last 2 days. 

I'm off to email president so if I have left over time I'll shoot y'all another email!

OH!   The housing, no the houses here is very different.  Tiny ruin down houses. They all are just cement walls, tin roofs, with a stove and table and beds. Everything is very run down and bad in my area. But the Loza live in the one nice part of the area. There house is very nice compared to the others and its more like an actual house in America. 

ummm..... yeah all is well

Well,  we have a problem.... so my computer shut down and I lost the
whole email I sent to you.... so I have a few mintues till 6 so here's
the important stuff.  


I love the bball highlights keep them coming.  All is well.  Work is very good.
For mothers day, still not sure on a time that we are going to skype you.
But it will be around 7pm my time.  During the week I'll try to email
you when we have an exact time.  If not be on around 7pm my time.
Search C L (lives in Argentina, La Pampa, Santa Rosa and she has a picture of
her. About 22 and black hair.)
She can speak English so during the week when you add her do a test
call and just skype her and she will make sure all the kinks are worked out.

But I get to email for free now so that's a bonus! ha not really sorry.

Okay, I have 7 minutes left so I'll try to type as fast as I can. 
All is well here. I love it! 
My spanish is coming good but I'll be able to talk to you in Spanish when you call on Skype this week. 


Thats way cool all the kids are out of school soon. That's super sad about the
xxx family, they are a super good family and yeah... way sad. Try to help
them out if you can!  


All day I spend helping people who have ruined their lives by cheating, drugs, sex, beer, and all the things you can possibly think of.  Its very rewarding helping people. 


Few funny things:
1) I spilt boiling water on my foot ( I just am used to it haha)
2) We recorded a super funny video I'll send to you next week with the
baptism pictures
3) Kids tried to force us in there car and drink with them haha super
funny but they stopped when I offered them Jesus cards and such haha
4) We are planning a super party for 2 wards for investigators and
members and its gonne be sweet!
5) I'm in ARGENTINA! WOOT WOOT! haha

But yeah all is well. 


Make sure you add the girl on Skype I'm excited to talk to yall.
It will be fun. But all is well. We had a very very good week.  We found lots of new investigators (9) and taught about 22 lessons and yeah lots of other good numbers. 


All is well.  I'll get a new comp next week so thats exciting! I wonder who it will be!! haha

SUPA

Well, that looks like y'all have a fun weekend! but next time 5 or 6 pictures will do just fine haha no need to send 30. But anyways, that's very good, I'm glad they finally got married. I mean, I did call the whole thing from before they were even dating but hey... I'm not one to brag. haha 

All is well here in Argentina.  

No, I don't use that liner, much to hot, but I'm sure when it gets colder I'll use it. Hopefully you've sent me that package with goodies! ha anyways, no, Argentina is good here. Spanish is going good, and yeah. 

This past Saturday we had the baptism of BIBIANA!!! YAY!!! that's how its spelt but in English  its Viviana but it's the same way to say it out loud in Spanish. So that was super good!!!!  Yes, all 3 of her daughters went to the baptism so this week were attacking and hopefully we can start to teach them the lessons. 

The work is starting to build. We are increasing our teaching pool and doing some good work. We have been using a few new tactics to talk to people and they are  working.   Every time we talk to someone we teach only the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith.  That way its quick, keeps their interest, and its been working so were sticking to it! haha   Another fun thing is like half our contacts we ¨contact to baptize¨ lol so like for an example, we are walking down the street and we start talking to a lady and refer everything to baptism and then once we have a return visit at their house we extend the baptism commitment right there haha its super good! 

Yesterday we sacked 3 dates of baptism with people. It's a very good way to weed out the ones who aren't ready. So we have high hopes for this week! Yes the torta fritas are suppppper good!  I love them! haha and we just cook lots of stuff like pastas, and uhhhh other Argentine food.  Nothing to crazy but it's good still. 

But back to the baptism it was very good and I loved it!  It's cool to feel the Spirit. SUPA! 

Yeah, 2 weeks ago we had interviews so that was good. And since I live with the zone leaders we spent a few hours with him (Mission President) also. So yeah we have chatted haha he doesn't speak English but its cool.  Its weird, like I'll be talking with latins or the people of Argentina and then in my mind think ¨wow this is weird haha I cant speak spanish¨ and somehow I can lol SUPA!

 

Recently it has been super cold haha like rain and just cold! Although today and yesterday its been sunny which has been nice to work in. But you can for sure tell that the Winter is here in Argentina! ha so that's good. 

Lets see what else has happened.  Yesterday I played in church again that piano so that was good, I don't like doing it very much but I put on my happy face and do it haha that's what a lot of people tell me here. That I'm always happy and smiling lol but you know, when you are confused, don't understand, and its really awkward, all you know how to do is smile :) hahahahaha 

Yesterday we helped a less active out.  He's struggling big time.  He has everything set up to hang himself, super sad but we worked with him for a while yesterday and slowly but surely we were changing his mind. So he's a special project. Tonight were going to drop some cane on a few investigators haha because there not progressing.  Tyler can fill you in about that, its not fun, but it needs to be done lots.

 

But yeah, the work here is all good.  I got a super sweet soccer jersey and it was free! woot woot!  

Lets see what else would you guys like to know... I probably leave a lot of stuff out like small details but to me it's just everyday life now ha so sorry. hmmm.... not sure. I'm gonna go email president and then if I think of more, I will send another quick one! CHOW!

P.S. for Janine, your Spanish is flawless and wonderful, I wouldn't change a thing! haha glad to hear all is well with you.  Maybe one day I'll get a letter together send it to you.  Or better yet, you send me one with your address? Yeah? I like that idea mucho meyor! (much better ;) )

 

Oh and for skyping you next week, not sure the day or when its gonna go down, but next week in the email I'll narrow down a specific time when I will call you and let you know. CHOW!

So I thought of some other things, this week me and my comp went to a small town about an hour away called Anguil and boy it was sad.   I mean it looks like a war went through the town and now people live in the ruines of it with sticks and tarps, and a few cement walls.  Super sad, but it was good. We went there to help the elders out in that area (it's a new area). So that was fun this week.

I like being with other missionarys it's like a brother hood that only RM´s and Missionaries would understand haha

Kellie looks very good in her pictures, very cute pictures. 

Conner can drive?!? wow there pony.... tell that chicken little rat biscut to hold his horses haha but jk thats super cool. He can drive my thug car any day he wants. As long as he is nice to MY explorer that I FOUND and I BOUGHT! haha anyways... thats all.
